Over the past five centuries, Antwerp has played a pivotal role in the production and dissemination of images. The exhibition  Masterpieces in the MAS. Five Centuries of Images in Antwerp   features some of the showpieces from the collections of KMSKA, M HKA and Museum Plantin-Moretus / Print Room.

Tickets provide access to the exhibition Masterpieces in the MAS only. Combined tickets are available for access to all temporary and permanent exhibitions at MAS.

Guided tours

The exhibition Masterpieces in the MAS juxtaposes the Old Masters with contemporary art. Tours are provided by guides of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp. A guided tour last 90 minutes and costs € 65 per group of up to 20 persons. Please make reservations at least three weeks prior to your visit by contacting Antwerp Tourism and Convention, T +32 (0)3 232 01 03.

Getting there

Museum Aan de Stroom (MAS) is situated in a vibrant neighbourhood in the north of Antwerp, known as Eilandje. The main entrance to MAS is at Hanzenstedenplaats 1, at the Nassaubrug end of the building, alongside the MAS shop. Visit Slimweg for tips on how to get to MAS in an environmentally responsible way.

Walking to MAS

MAS is situated at walking distance from the historical city centre (10 minutes along the Scheldt riverbank).

Cycling to MAS

Ample bicycle parking is available near the main entrance to MAS.

Driving to MAS

MAS is easily accessible by car via some of Antwerp’s main traffic arteries. Paid parking is available at Parking Godefriduskaai (entrance at Zeevaartstraat 11).

Public transport to MAS

By train:

Arrive at Antwerp Central Railway Station. Catch bus 17 at platform 10 in Pelikaanstraat, alongside the station (stop: Van Schoonbekeplein).

  • Bus 9, 17 (stop: Rijnkaai) and 30 (stop: Sint-Pietersvliet).

Wheelchair access is available on request at the reception desk. A museum attendant will accompany you by elevator to the appropriate floor(s). Free admission for companions of wheelchair users.
