De Trappen of the KMSKA

De Trappen is the youth work of KMSKA. Here, young people between the ages of 16 and 26 get the chance to discover art in an accessible, inspiring and connecting way. A safe space for expression and encounter.

A safe space for expression and encounter.

Not everyone finds their way to a museum by themselves. Some literally get stuck on the imposing steps in front of the museum building without finding their way inside. That’s why De Trappen literally and figuratively opens its doors to young people who could use extra support. Through creative workshops, art projects an inspiring encounters, they are given space to express themselves discover new talents and build self-confidence.

More than just art

De Trappen is not only an introduction to art, but also a stepping stone to personal growth and community involvement. By working together, creating and sharing experiences, young people build their self-confidence and future prospects.

Co-creation and own voice

Young people themselves play an active role in shaping projects and activities. They collaborate with artists, museum experts and peers to make the museum a place where they and other young people feel at home. Come taste of what they put together for other young people!
