KMSKA LATE - Bonjour Mademoiselleke
Category:
Date:

About embarrassing moments in the fry shop
and mothers emerging from phones.
About small thoughts that grow
and big feelings that shrink.
About hormones and a growing mustache,
about wearing skirts and armpit hair.
About girls and boys and boxes.
Or maybe it’s not all so black and white?
BONJOUR MADEMOISELLEKE is a living graphic novel that unfolds drawing by drawing. In this visual exploration of gender identity, Lukas draws primarily from conversations, situations, and feelings he has personally experienced.
Everything seen on stage is hand-drawn and crafted, and visibly manipulated live by five performers. This stream of images, thoughts, words, and emotions is accompanied live by melodica, accordion, and an electronic organ.
BONJOUR MADEMOISELLEKE is a performance for both young and old, approaching themes like identity, gender, and the quest for self with a healthy dose of curiosity, care, and humor.
Winner of the Boze Wolf Award for “emerging talent” at the Boze Wolf Festival 2025.
This “Bonjour Mademoiselleke” surprises and amazes. (…) It is a production that combines object theatre with a unique form of drawing, the comic strip, and more specifically, the graphic novel. (…) A performance that, in both form and content, deserves to be shared with the world—must be shared. Thank you, Lukas Glowacki, thank you to your entire team, and thank you to DE MAAN, for this outrageous, graphic-novel-inspired production that holds such promise for the future! Thank you for creating something so beautiful for us.
