KMSKA LATE Talks - Antoine Roegiers in collaboration with Keteleer Gallery

Category:

Nocturne

Date:

2 April 2026 from 19:30 to 20:15
LATE talks is a series of conversations with promising artists, organized in collaboration with leading art galleries.

At KMSKA, the permanent collection emphasizes the Old and Modern Masters. At the same time, the museum is known for a rich programme of temporary exhibitions that respond to current trends and the spirit of the times.

With LATE talks, KMSKA provides a platform for today’s artists. The dialogue with old and modern art serves as fertile ground for their artistic practice.

For this edition, curator and author Siska Baeck will speak with Antoine Roegiers, on the occasion of his solo exhibition La Traversée, running until 2 May 2026.

Antoine Roegiers

Antoine Roegiers (b. 1980, Belgium) is a visual artist based in Brussels. He is known for his layered drawings, animated films, and installations in which literature, art history, and popular culture converge.

His work often starts from existing images and stories, which he transforms into new, associative universes. With a keen sense of montage and estrangement, he explores themes such as identity, power, representation, and the role of the image in our society.

Roegiers’ oeuvre moves fluidly between drawing, film, and scenography, creating immersive worlds in which the narrative and the visual constantly challenge each other.
