KMSKA LATE –
Artist talk – Matthieu Beudaert

Category:

Nocturne

Date:

22 May 2025 from 19:00 to 20:00
Starting in 2025, Matthieu Beudaert—Michelin-starred chef and art historian—will be the new Artist in Residence at KMSKA. De Standaard has ranked him among the best chefs in the country. Each week, he translates a work of art into a dish for Sabato magazine.

On May 22, KMSKA LATE delves into the world of art and gastronomy with Matthieu Beudaert. During an artist talk, he will share how art and cuisine intersect in his work. How does art inspire a chef? Why can a dish, like a painting, suddenly evoke distant memories? This promises to be a sensory journey of sight, taste, smell, and sound—through the KMSKA collection, but also touching on the novels of Marcel Proust and the music of John Cage.

For this special KMSKA LATE event, the Artist in Residence will "cook" a selection of artworks from the museum. After exploring the pieces, visitors will have the chance to taste Matthieu Beudaert’s culinary interpretations for themselves.
